Well, the day is almost here. Becca and I leave Tuesday morning at the ungodly hour (for Becca) of 5 a.m. on the first leg of the cross-country journey. The first day will be the worst in terms of driving -- 11.5 hours to Copley, OH -- but with Colin's birthday on Monday and Steph (with whom we are staying) teaching on Wednesday night, arriving Tuesday with the long drive was the only option.
I'm still not positive why Becca is making the move to San Jose, CA (well, not really), but it might have something to do with this: The freak snowstorm of October 29th that dumped a foot of snow on Concord. I can't blame her.
We'll be packing up the car this afternoon to make sure everything fits. It seems to be looking good. Things are a lot easier when you are not taking any furniture. Otherwise, we seem to be set. All electronics (music, GPS, etc). are on board. Corey checked the car out. The Roadside America (sadly, we will miss the World's Biggest Ball of Twine) and Road Food books are packed. What more could we need?
Next check in should be Tuesday night. I'll probably be so highly caffeinated that I'll be up all night writing a post.
